How long can I keep the material I take out?
Adult fiction, non-fiction: 2 weeks
Children’s books: 2 weeks
Magazines: 2 weeks, except curent issue which does not circulate.
CD’s and Audiobooks: 2 weeks
DVD’s and VHS: 1 week
Is there a limit to how much I can borrow?
Patrons may borrow no more than 15 CD’s and 15 DVD’s/VHS tapes at one time. We ask that you are reasonable and responsible with the numbers of items you check out.
How often can I renew items?
Most items can be renewed twice, except interlibrary loan items, which circulate for 30 days, and items which have been requested by someone else in the Clams system.
How do I renew items?
You can renew items through the CLAMS catalog by going to My Account and using your pin number. If you do not have a pin number you cam call the Front Desk at 508.487.7094. You may call the Library directly to renew items also. Be sure to have your Library card ready and know which items you want to renew when you call.
Where can I return items to the Library?
When the Library is open we ask that you bring your items to the return box at the Front Desk. You do not need to wait for your items to be checked in. You can return items to the Book Drop outside the side door on Center Street. You may return items also to other CLAMS Libraries. For CD’s, DVD’s and VHS, check to see that the item you think you are returning is in the container.
What are the fines for overdue material?
Videos and DVD’s: $1.00 a day. If you return a CD, DVD or VHS container without its contents, this still constitutes an overdue item. If the contents are not returned to us, you will be billed the cost of the item.
All Other Items: $0.10 a day. If you have fines, you will not be able to borrow from the Virtual Catalog until your bill is reconciled.
Maximum Fine One Item: $3.00
Maximum Fine (one item or more): $25.00
If your fines total $25.00 your borrowing privileges will be suspended until you reconcile your account.
Lost or Damaged Items: $25.00. If you return the items or pay the $25 then your fines return to the maximum $3.00 fee.
If you owe over $25, or if your card has been stopped or suspended for some other reason, you will not be able to use your card. Contact your local CLAMS library if you have questions about your card or borrowing privileges.
For full borrowing privileges at CLAMS public libraries, Cape Cod Community College students will need to acquire a CLAMS card from a public library.
