Edward Miller & Amy Herzog Poetry Event
July 9 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Join poet Edward Miller and Amy Herzog for a discussion of in the Library’s Marc Jacobs Reading Room on Tuesday, July 9 at 6:00 pm.
Edward D. Miller will be reading from his chapbook, The Rock in the Middle of the Road, recently published by Prolific Press. Much of his poetry and creative nonfiction is available in online publications and can be found at https://www.facebook.com/EdMPoetry/. His poem “Surely” is included in this year’s Pride Issue of Curating Alexandria.
Miller has been visiting the Outer Cape since he was a teenager with a fake ID, frolicking at The Boatslip’s Tea Dance and The Pied Piper’s New Wave Night. Many of his poems use the landscape of the Cape as a backdrop to explore the dynamics of queer courtship, coastal culture, and the enduring love of place.
Born in Brooklyn, Miller has travelled extensively in Europe and South America and these experiences also influence his poetry. He and his husband of six years share their home with a strong-willed Chatterdale (Chihuahua mixed with Patterdale Terrier). Miller is a professor of media and performance at the City University of New York.
