Free Movie Nights: Drama on the High Seas
Wednesdays in April
5:30 pm
The Provincetown Public Library welcomes the community to participate in the April’s free movie month comprised of four feature films taking place on the high seas in honor of our Fourth Annual Moby Dick Marathon Reading event. This line-up of classic films has been carefully selected by Clayton Nottleman, Library staff member and film aficionado.  The films start at 5:30 pm and will be shown in the following order:

April 3: The Swiss Family Robinson (1960; 2 hours, 6 minutes):  Swiss family must survive being shipwrecked on a deserted island.

April 10: Purple Noon (1960; 1 hour, 58 minutes): Tom Ripley is a talented mimic, moocher, forger and all-around criminal improviser; but there’s more to Tom Ripley than even he can guess.

April 17: Dead Calm (1989; 1 hour, 36 minutes): After a tragedy, John Ingram and his wife Rae are spending some time isolated at sea, when they come across a stranger who has abandoned a sinking ship.

April 24: The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999; 2 hours, 19 minutes): In late 1950s New York, Tom Ripley, a young underachiever, is sent to Italy to retrieve Dickie Greenleaf, a rich and spoiled millionaire playboy. But when the errand fails, Ripley takes extreme measures.
