Free Movie Nights: Great Documentaries
Wednesdays in November
5:30 pm
The Provincetown Public Library welcomes the community to participate in November’s free movie month comprised of three documentaries. This line-up of films has been carefully selected by Clayton Nottleman, Library staple and film aficionado.  The films start at 5:30 pm and will be shown in the following order:

November 7: Elaine Stritch: Shoot Me (2013; 1 hours, 21 minutes): 2013 documentary film directed by Chiemi Karasawa about the life and career of Elaine Stritch. Plagued by medical issues and memory lapses, the Broadway icon contemplates retirement and mortality as she approaches her 87th birthday and rehearses for a new show.

November 14: Pina (2011; 1 hour, 43 minutes): Wim Wenders directs this spectacular tribute to choreographer Pina Bausch and her celebrated dance troupe. Artful and insightful documentary with stunning dance sequences.

November 28: Gimme Shelter (1970; 1 hours, 31 minutes): Documentary by Albert and David Maysles recalling the events surrounding a free concert by the Rolling Stones at the Altamont Speedway outside San Francisco in 1969. Worried about the security, the Stones asked the Hell’s Angels to keep order for them, but the day ended tragically as violence broke out and a fan was killed.
