Sailing Towards My Father: A One-Man Play about Herman Melville performed by Stephen Collins
Friday, April 26
7:00 pm
Help the Library commemorate Herman Melville’s 200th birthday and conclude the first day of the Moby-Dick Marathon Reading with a special performance of Sailing Towards My Father, a one-man play about Herman Melville, written by Carl A. Rossi and performed by Stephen Collins, actor, teacher, tour guide, and distinguished opener of the 2019 Moby-Dick Marathon Reading.

Sailing Towards My Father chronicles Melville’s life from youth to old age, concentrating on his evolution as a writer and his complex relations with God, his parents and siblings, his wife and children, and Nathanial Hawthorne.

This Melville event, part of the Provincetown Public Library’s Moby-Dick week will be held in the Marc Jacobs Reading Room on Friday, April 26 at 7:00 pm, following that day’s readings.
