Special Women’s Week Writer’s Voice Cafe
October 16 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
This month, the Provincetown Public Library continues its collaborative effort with the renowned Writers Voice Café. Continuing to further its mission of becoming a center for cultural storytelling in our community, the Library is working with the founding members of the Writer’s Voice Café to produce a series of monthly Cafés, Writing Workshops and Annual Events in 2019. Founded and hosted by Dian Hamilton in 2007, with Hilde Oleson and Lorraine Kujawa joining shortly thereafter, the Writer’s Voice Café provides writers and artists of all genres opportunities to share their work and to connect with others in the community for support and inspiration.
This special Women’s Week edition of the Writer’s Voice Cafe will feature Michelle Axelson, owner of Womencrafts, a feminist/lesbian book and gift shop here in Provincetown. Michelle will be leading a conversation on what feminism means to you and how it changed your life. Please come with stories to share!
The Writer’s Voice Cafe as a part of The Writer’s Voice supports, inspires and celebrates writers of artistic works of all genres on Cape Cod with a leaning toward the Outer Cape. We work in partnership with the Provincetown Public Library.
The October Writer’s Voice Café event at the Provincetown Public Library will be held in the Marc Jacobs Reading Room on Wednesday, October 16 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The evening will begin with a caregiving-themed open mic. Coffee, tea, and snacks will be served. Everyone and all ages are welcome! Free will donation. Wheelchair accessible.
