The Provincetown Railroad Story

August 13 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

For 65 years, Provincetown had passenger service to and from Boston and for 87 years, freight service.

Where was the Railroad?
When did it stop coming to Provincetown?
Will the train come back?

Hear about the Provincetown Railroad Story and how train service changed the town from a remote, seashore village with a declining fishing industry into a resort and artist colony that became the destination we know today.

Jane Weissman, author of the Provincetown Railroad – The Tracks of Change, spent over a year and a half researching the story of the railroad, talking with historians and railroad enthusiasts, and reading over 50 books, articles, and primary resources.  Join her on this train ride into the past on Tuesday, August 13 at 6:00 pm in the Library’s Marc Jacob’s Reading Room.
