Writer’s Voice Cafe
March 11 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
This month, the Provincetown Public Library continues its collaborative effort with the renowned Writers Voice Café. Continuing to further its mission of becoming a center for cultural storytelling in our community, the Library is working with the founding members of the Writer’s Voice Café to produce a series of monthly Cafés, Writing Workshops and Annual Events in 2020. Founded and hosted by Dian Hamilton in 2007, with Hilde Oleson and Lorraine Kujawa joining shortly thereafter, the Writer’s Voice Café provides writers and artists of all genres opportunities to share their work and to connect with others in the community for support and inspiration.
This month’s Writer’s Voice Cafe will feature performance poet and actor Tamora Israel. Tamora will showcase an evolution of her poetry from her earlier works to her current creations.
Tamora is a Long Island NY native and has been a Cape Cod resident for 13 years. She has showcased her performance style poetry at several open mics and has been a featured Poet as well for events on and off Cape Cod.
Tamora performed in The Laramie Project at The Provincetown Theater, as well as performed and filmed a TEDx talk in 2019 on “Consent and Boundaries in a post MeToo era”. She also recently participated in The Provincetown Theater’s 24 hour play as a writer.
Tamora is the co-owner and co-founder of The Cordial Eye Gallery and Artist Space located in Hyannis, at which she hosts an Open Mic Night every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month. Tamora is a Cape Cod Community College Theater program alumni and a proud participant in the College’s “Be Powerful” Campaign. The Writer’s Voice Cafe, as a part of The Writer’s Voice, supports, inspires and celebrates writers of artistic works of all genres on Cape Cod with a leaning toward the Outer Cape. We work in partnership with the Provincetown Public Library.
