Join Alison Dwyer, Holistic Nurse Practitioner specializing in Mind-Body Medicine, for a new winter wellness workshop series devoted to the brain! Alison will provide information on the brain as well as guidance on how to improve brain function for a healthier mind, body, and spirit.
The workshops will take place in the Library’s Lower Level Program Room on Wednesday January 10, January 17, and January 24th from 3:00 to 5:00 pm. January10th – Your Amazing Changing Brain: Getting to know your neurons and other fascinating parts of your brain
This workshop will provide a user-friendly guide to how the brain works. Including the newest research on brain “plasticity” and brain health.The workshop is both educational and FUN !
January 24th – The Brain’s Role In Sickness and In Health
This workshop explores the relationship between illness and the brain including stress, autoimmune illness, depression, anxiety, trauma. AND- What is “brain fog’? Is it just age that’s causing my memory loss? Is Alzheimer’s preventable? What is the relationship between our gut and our brain? How to support your brain during illness.
January 31st – Building a Better Brain: Strategies to increase Brain health and whole body wellness
This workshop will address the how-to’s of making your brain work better at every age.You will take home research-based, lifestyle strategies that will boost your brain’s health, overall vitality, and prevent decline.
