Get a Library Card

Library cards are free to all applicants with a valid Massachusetts ID. Out of state residents are charged a yearly membership fee of $25. Provincetown property owners and tax payers without a Massachusetts photo ID are still eligible for a free membership. To apply for a Provincetown Public Library Borrower’s Card:

To apply for a FREE library card, please bring a Massachusetts photo ID and proof of your permanent address. A parental signature is required for patrons under the age of 18. Provincetown library cards grant access to all of our online and in-library services, including Ebooks. There is a $1.00 fee to replace a lost library card.

To apply for a PAID library card (non-Massachusetts residents/Provincetown property owners), please bring a valid photo ID, proof of your permanent address, and $25 USD cash. A parental signature is required for patrons under the age of 18. Provincetown library cards grant access to all of our online and in-library services, including Ebooks. There is a $1.00 fee to replace a lost library card.
