Strange Times
A Poem by Hilde Oleson
I am not afraid. I am not sad.
A stranger in these even stranger times
I seem to be feeling fine.
Moments of happiness still occur,
A long lost friend reappears.
Friends call, just to support each other
Keeping occupied.
Staying home alone becomes a game.
Which will win –inertia or inventiveness?
Surely life itself seems more a gift,
A treasure we must protect.
Thinking back on past victories
Brings happy memories and faith
That there are still days ahead,
When once more just living
Will be the normal thing.
