Room of Self
A Poem by Melanie Black
This is an old house
that begs to be mended.
Once majestic
now fallen in disrepair.
The spirits come with tools
and bricks and boards.
For months the sound
of hammering, sawing.
New windows replace old.
Light reaches in.
