Only a Grain
A New Poem by Hilde Oleson
Only a grain of sand to some folk
Silver lining sliding silently into the sand
Pirates loot, or rays from the moon
My fingers let it slide.
Infinite sweet pebbles brushing one on one
Grinding from the pressure
Of the pounding waves,
Clinging to each other
As each disturbance makes them smaller
Shrinking until a universe
Sits in my hand.
