What is CLAMS, exactly?
Cape Libraries Automated Materials Sharing (CLAMS) is a non-profit, cooperative association of libraries on Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket that shares over 1.6 million items. Learn more details about CLAMS below, and here.
How long can I keep the material I take out?
2 weeks for all books, audiobooks, and magazines (except for current issue)
1 week for DVDs
How do I renew items?
Items from CLAMS’ libraries will be automatically renewed up to three times if there is not a hold on it for anyone else. Items requested through ComCat and Interlibrary Loan circulate for 30 days and will not be automatically renewed
Where can I return items to the Library?
You can return items to the Book Drop outside the side door on Center Street, at the circulation desk when the Library is open, or at other CLAMS libraries
What are the fines for overdue material?
The Library no longer charges overdue fines.
What happens if I lose an item checked out to me?
If an item is lost or returned damaged you will be responsible for the replacement cost. Please contact the Library at 508-487-7094 to arrange payment or replacement.
If have a billed item with replacement cost of over $25 you will not be able to use your card until that fee is cleared up. Contact the Library if you have questions about your card or borrowing privileges.

By accessing the CLAMS catalog from your mobile device or computer
By using the online catalog within the library
By phoning 508-487-7094
To reserve library materials online:
Search the catalog for the item
Click on “Request It”
Enter your library barcode number and PIN
Choose your pickup location
Click “Submit”
