Free Movie Nights: You’re Not from Here, Are You?

Wednesdays in September, 5:30 pm

Join us for Wednesday Night Movies at the Library! This month we are showing four films featuring visitors of various kinds! This line-up has been carefully selected by Mary Alice Wells, Library staff member and film aficionado.  The films start at 5:30 pm and will be shown in the following order:

September 7: The Out of Towners (1970; 1 hour, 41 minutes): An Ohio sales executive accepts a higher position within the company and travels to New York City with his wife for his job interview but things go wrong from the start.

September 14: The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951; 1 hour, 32 minutes): An alien lands in Washington, D.C. and tells the people of Earth that they must live peacefully or be destroyed as a danger to other planets.

September 21: National Lampoon’s European Vacation (1985; 1 hour, 35 minutes): The Griswolds win a vacation tour across Europe where the usual havoc ensues.

September 28: E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982; 1 hour, 55 minutes): A troubled child summons the courage to help a friendly alien escape from Earth and return to his home planet.
