Free Movie Nights: Falling in Love at the Movies

Wednesdays in December at 5:30 pm in the Marc Jacobs Reading Room

Join us for Wednesday Night Movies at the Library! This month we are showing four  feature films that feature movie stars who fell in love while making their movie! This line-up has been carefully selected by Nan Cinnater, Library staff member and film aficionado. The films start at 5:30 pm and will be shown in the following order:

December 7: Adam’s Rib (Tracy & Hepburn - 1949; 1 hour, 41 minutes): Domestic and professional tensions mount when a husband and wife work as opposing lawyers in a case involving a woman who shot her husband.

December 14: To Have & Have Not (Bogart & Bacall - 1944; 1 hour, 40 minutes): During World War II, American expatriate Harry Morgan helps transport a French Resistance leader and his beautiful wife to Martinique while romancing a sensuous lounge singer.

December 21: Mr. & Mrs. Smith (Pitt & Jolie - 2005; 2 hours): A bored married couple is surprised to learn that they are both assassins hired by competing agencies to kill each other.

December 28: Swing Shift (Hawn & Russell - 1984; 1 hour, 40 minutes): A woman finds romance when she takes a job at an aircraft plant to help make ends meet after her husband goes off to war.
