Local writer, Jere Lorenzo Miller, will share his unbridled tale of brutal survival, calculable risks, and family commitment illustrated by animals of the savannah. The 5,000-word short story reads in roughly 30 minutes. The setting is Kruger National Park in South Africa, a place where animals converge dangerously on a daily basis, and survival is hardly guaranteed.
Original artwork by Mark Redden and love musical accompaniment by Meagan Gillis and DeAngelo Nieves will accompany the reading.
Jere Miller is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. Jere is a professional screenwriter, poet, novelist and essay writer. He lives in Provincetown, Massachusetts.
Mark Redden graduated from the Crawford College of Art, winning several awards for his work, which has been described as all-encompassing in its vision. He worked briefly in advertising and later for a wooden boat-builder in a village in the west of Ireland. His studio is in Barcelona, Spain.
