Seeking a quieter event during Carnival 2023? Local singer-songwriters and indie recording artists Dave Brown and Grant King will swap an hour of songs in this free, acoustic concert. Brown and King met in NYC’s Outmusic collective in the 1990s. Each relocated in Provincetown a few years ago, and are excited to again share a double bill.
This past winter, Brown performed several of his songs at Coffeehouse at the Mews to enthusiastic response. An indie recording artist, Brown has been hailed for his “honest and inspirational songs” and “golden voice,” featured on his albums Splendid Wings, Storm In A Teacup, Live Shows, and This Is My House.
King’s performance of his “Old Hippie” at the Provincetown Theater’s 2021 Townie Holiday Extravaganza was a surprise hit. A singer-songwriter in the Northeast since the 1970s, his song “To Hold And Be Held” was a Critic’s Choice in Billboard Magazine. His albums Let Love Out and Bodies Of Water garnered critical acclaim ("An honesty and passion seldom heard”–The Advocate). King’s newest music project, Revived, will be released later this year.
Sweets will be served.
