Moby-Dick Read Aloud Workshop

Sunday, April 24 at 2:00 pm in the Bowsprit Room

Signed up for the Moby-Dick Marathon and want to better your read aloud skills?  Want to sign up to read but feeling a little stage fright at the prospect? Join Moby-Dick Marathon alumna and gifted public speaker Pat Bruno for a workshop geared toward improving your read aloud prowess.

You will learn some warm-up voices exercises, some breath work, and how to speak into a microphone.  You will also be taught to make use of various dramatic techniques such as  “pregnant pauses,” changes of pitch, tone, and playing various character parts with differing voices and accents to capture the “mood of the moment.” In short, you will have fun reading a story and breathing “LIFE “ into it, just in time for the 2022 Moby-Dick Marathon!

The workshop will take place in the Library’s Bowsprit Room.  Please email btaylor@clamsnet.org with any questions.
