Lee Roscoe on her new book: Wampanoag Art for the Ages – Traditional and Transitional

Lee Roscoe is an award-winning environmentalist, journalist, and playwright. Roscoe is a former New Yorker now living on Cape Cod.

In this well illustrated book. Lee Roscoe profiles several Wampanoag artists and discusses their work. She begins with Wetu, or bark dwellings, and continues with Matting, Twining, Pottery, Wampum, Regalia, Adornment, Painting and Mixed Media.

Roscoe "created a beautiful, meaningful book (itself a work of art)...to show so many of our wonderful Native artisans' excellence--that they are still doing these things... with class and skill." Earl Mills, Sachem Ttoo-Euwamp-Si Kuk (Chief Flying Eagle) Mashpee Wampanoag.
