Moby-Dick Week: Right Whales: A Species on the Brink

A Moby-Dick Week 2021 Event

Right Whales: A Species on the Brink
A Talk with Jesse Mechling

Join Jesse Mechling, Educational Director at the Center for Coastal Studies, for a discussion on the North Atlantic Right Whale. North Atlantic right whales are one of the world's most endangered species that are common visitors to Cape Cod waters in the winter and spring. Learn about these amazing creatures, how they became the "right whale" to hunt, their natural history, the many threats they face today, and what is being done to protect these incredible animals.

The Center for Coastal Studies (CCS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to understanding, preserving and protecting marine ecosystems and the coastal environment through applied research, education and public policy initiatives.
