Free Movie Nights: Those Cheeky Brits…

Wednesdays in January, 5:30 pm

The Provincetown Public Library welcomes the community to participate in its free movie Wednesdays!  January’s series is comprised of four films featuring fun, inspiring stories of people whose “backs are against the wall” for a variety of reasons.  Fueled by resourcefulness, good old British "cheek", and (of course) humor, they move out of their comfort zones to splendidly rise to the challenges that face them. This line-up of films has been carefully selected by Khristine Hopkins, Library staff member and film aficionado.  The films start at 5:30 pm and will be shown in the following order:

January 5: The Full Monty (1997; 1 hour, 32 minutes): Six unemployed steel workers form a male striptease act. The women cheer them on to go for "the full monty" - total nudity.

January 12: Kinky Boots (2005; 1 hours, 47 minutes): A drag queen comes to the rescue of a man who, after inheriting his father's shoe factory, needs to diversify his product if he wants to keep the business afloat.

January 19: Misbehaviour (2020; 1 hour,  46 minutes): A group of women hatch a plan to disrupt the 1970 Miss World beauty competition in London.

January 26: Pride (2014; 1 hour, 59 minutes): U.K. gay activists work to help miners during their lengthy strike of the National Union of Mineworkers in the summer of 1984.
